My good man, if someone calls your argument facile, it is your simple responsibility to make explicit the substance of the argument. Your arguments are made with unelaborated statements, and you make no effort to attach substantive justification to your assertions. Your utter resorting to saying, Go look it up is a cop out and demonstration of my point, despite your intent. I begin to engage in balanced questioning when the other interlocutor at least demonstrates the interest in honest dialogue, which leads to honest debate. Anything presumptuous gets called facile, in all politeness.
